We had Jaia’s birthday party on Tuesday. The very Tuesday that brought yet another mountain of snow in Ottawa. Thankfully, quite a few troopers made the trek (mostly from Orleans) to watch the bean blow out her candle and dive into cake for the first time. Our friends Simon and Sylvie acted as the resident photographers and were able to catch all the important moments for us. Huge thanks to both of them. I would not have been able to do the day justice on my own.
And evidence of a good party:       In just over an hour, one year ago, Jaia made her way into the world and straight into our hearts.
Time has passed more quickly then I ever thought it could and our one-year old wee one is walking, talking and becoming a real little girl with a whopping personality.
I can’t wait to see what the next year brings. Happy, happy birthday, Jaia. And happy New Year.

Again, big birthday hugs from Bermuda. I admit it…I did a little forgetful.ca archive surfing yesterday back into her first few weeks at home and can’t believe how quickly that year passed.

I did the same thing to find some of those early photos. It brought tears to my eyes. It’s hard to believe she was that small when you look at her now…

Oh yeah…I’m foreseeing some adorable curly pigtails in her very near future. Can’t wait. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jaia! Uncle Kurt and I wish we could be there tomorrow to smoosh cake into our faces with you! In the meantime, sending lots of birthday love from Bermuda, Auntie Kris. I was also a very lucky duck this Christmas. ‘Santa’ gave me a new 50mm lens for my camera. It’s awesome, as evidenced by these photos – though the gorgeous subjects helped too.

Jaia had a ball at her party. I think she’s expecting that unwrapping presents is a weekly event though. Too bad her next opportunity is ~340 days away 🙂
