forgetful

I feel like it is too soon to be talking about first words but here we are. Time just flies way, way, way, way to quickly, doesn’t it?

About a week ago Wes seemed to point in Julius’ direction and say ‘cat’. I thought I was hearing things. I tried to get him to repeat it, but anyone who has spent time with a babe of this age (or maybe it is just my babes) knows that they rarely do things on command to show off because their parents want them to. Jaia was exactly the same. Any new skill that I wanted her to demonstrate to onlookers or for the video camera was kept under wraps until she was good and ready.

Anyway, fast forward a couple of days and he says it again as he high tails it toward the cat To grab a handful of fur. This rime though, Dan was in the room and heard it too. Again, even with prompting, he would not repeat on command.

Since then we’ve both heard him say it, and I feel like I can finally confirm that Wes’ first word was indeed ‘cat’. Not mama or daddy or even Jaia (which I was certain it would be) but cat. Cat.

Hmmmm…Maybe Roxy and Julius do actually serve a purpose other than to shed, barf, poop and pee all over the place. Well, at least they make one of us happy.
