Day 288 – Tiny Dancer

Today Jaia took part in her school’s Dance-a-thon.  There was a 15 minute time slot where the JK kids were brought into the gym and let loose to shake their groove thangs.  They ran, they danced, they jumped, they did the locomotion (with Jaia in the lead which had her grinning from ear to ear).

And I got to see it.  Every glorious minute of it.  Wes and I joined the class and when I walked into that gym and saw my girl twirling and twisting and laughing with her friends, my heart grew two sizes.  Or maybe three.

I am lucky.  I don’t talk about it much, but it is something I think about every day.  I have the great privilege of staying home with my littles.  And one of the perks of staying home means going to Jaia’s school almost once a week and taking part in activities that I wouldn’t normally see or hear about.  I put names to faces, I meet other parents, I see her in action.  I’ve been there for French lessons, sing alongs, field trips, computer lab time and class parties.  But the best part is seeing her so happy in her own environment.  From a front row seat.

My days may be busy and long and NOT quiet or restful, but I wouldn’t trade any of them for anything.  See what I mean? Lucky.

Day 287 – Keeping my word.

I finally did it.  I gathered up all the photos I’d been taking and not posting over the last few weeks and posted them last night.  If you are so inclined to catch up and check out my little beauties, head back to day 272 and read through to today.

For those of you who actually visit and enjoy the photo of the day, the finish line is close.  And I thank you for continuing to comment and to stop by, even when I’ve been absent for days on end.  No matter that I take photos every single day, posting them every single day is tough.  And I put a lot of pressure on myself to keep up with it.

So while I don’t regret making the promise to post a picture every day of Wes’ first year, I think I’ll be happier when I am posting because I want to, not because I feel like I have to.

That being said, I’m going to try (again) to stay on top of it and finish off the less than 3 months (YES.  I’m serious!!  In less than 3 months my boy will be one!!) without having to apologize for letting the blog slip (again).  You with me?

And what better place to post today’s photo:

Dan - Good work! Wes is the boy of a thousand faces. He looks like a different kid in every shot.

Melissa - what a great picture! Red is her colour:)

Day 286 – Finally…

I experienced a little bump in the road this week…a dead computer.  Just as I was ready to try to catch up on my daily photos, my poor little MacBook was completely without power.  Thankfully, she’s back and all is well again.  And I’m going to make every attempt to try to post photos from the last couple (few) weeks and get back on track.  Renos and run training have been occupying the time I usually set aside for blogging and, well, there are only so many minutes in a day so I’m doing the best I can.

Here’s today’s:
