Day 177 – The recent past

To say I’ve been busy lately is an understatement.  Since Wes arrived, free time has been in short, very limited supply.  Unfortunately, all the things I still want to try to accomplish are lingering and getting pushed further and further down my to-do list, especially as we prepare for the move.

So in rare moments of quiet I find myself trying to catch up.  Over the next few weeks, I may try to sprinkle what is now old news into posts to make sure that I actually get them posted before they are long forgotten.

The first to tackle: our AMAZING week at the cottage in July.  Mom, Dave, Liz, Mark and our family rented a cottage in Lake George, New York.  We relaxed, drank wine, sun-bathed, swam, boated, ate and just enjoyed, all together.  Here is a taste of the goodness.  The rest can be found here.

(Man, it makes me miss summer to look at these gems again….)

Mmmmmm…Smores!

Dominik - outstanding pictures – apparently you had a great time …

Day 175 – Right foot, naked.

It is a constant battle keeping a sock on this kid’s right foot.  Every single day, as soon as we leave the house, his first order of business is to remove his right sock and toss it out of his car seat.  The left one?  Untouched.  I can’t explain it.  Why bother trying?

Movember, in which men grow moustaches for reasons in addition to hilarity

When you’re as indifferent to shaving as I am, your ears really perk up when your wife suggests “why don’t you grow a moustache?”.

Why don’t I, I thought!  But there was more …

“It’s for a good cause, to help raise money for Prostate Cancer Canada,” she said.

Excellent idea, I thought!  Prostate cancer has affected our family, and is definitely a worthwhile cause.

So here I am on Day 5, with the beginnings of a creepy crawler on my top lip.  If you’d like to follow the progress of the stache, donate, or sign up, visit my page at Movember Canada.

And as a bonus, here’s the crew with our Franz Josef’s in Pittsburgh this year.  Gary was the winner, by the way.  His had sharp edges.  And yes, Jason’s was the saddest.
