Day 342 – So…

Remember the spring of 2011?

Yeah, me too.  It lasted for about a day and a half, and then we ‘welcomed back’ winter #2 of 2011.  All this flip flopping is killing this girl.  My littles are aching to get out and I am aching to get out with them.  I need vitamin D, and fat chance of that happening when we are still covered with hats, mitts and coats to protect us from the snow and hail at the END OF APRIL.

Mother Nature, whatever we did to piss you off, we’re sorry.  We take it back.  It won’t happen again.  Please, oh please, just let us have some sun and warm breezes.  Oh, and a nice HOT summer to enjoy by our new pool would be AWESOME.  We will be forever grateful.

That is all.

Day 341 – Stylin’

Jaia knows what she likes.  She’s very specific about what she wears to school every day and no amount of coaxing by me will change her mind.  Believe me, I’ve tried.  Often.

And now she’s started styling her own hair.

Thankfully, thus far, I’ve been able to come up with plausible excuses for why we should tone it down, but I’m afraid I’m running out…

Dan - Is that ‘do held up by barettes or dinner? 🙂

Dominik - Hard to tell what I like more – the hair style or the shirt 🙂

Day 340 – Piano Man

If Wes hears anyone playing the piano in our house, he drops what he’s doing and races to the playroom to ‘play along’.   It drives Jaia crazy.  She is clearly a solo artist and wants nothing to do with a duet with her little brother.

Day 338 – Sock weather

I just want to wear flip flops.  Flip flop weather means sunshine, warm air, skirts, sand between the toes, picnics and trips to the beach.  It means our pool will be opened and we’ll be outside ALL THE TIME.

I thought we were there.  And then it snowed this weekend.  Hailed and snowed.  And a freezing cold wind rattled the windows all day and night.  I have a bone to pick with Mother Nature.  This winter started early and has dragged on weeks longer than I’d like it to.  I’m officially done bundling up to keep warm.  Ridiculous.

And though I have been craving the freedom that flip flops bring, this weekend brought with it some very unwelcome sock weather.  Let’s hope I don’t have to see these babies again until fall.

Jen - Word. If it makes you feel better it has been snowing in Calgary for the past 4 days! We are sick of it too.
