Super Fun Happy.

My uber talented sister (in-law) made Jaia’s birthday cake.

And by cake I mean a six layer, rainbow beauty that literally blew my mind.

Annissa, you are an artist!  You took the time out of a crazy, busy week to make a dream cake for my little lady and I can’t thank you enough.  It was everything I had wanted and more.  Perfection.

I also wanted to send a thanks to Melanie for agreeing to take some pictures of the party for me.  At every one of my kid’s birthdays I feel the pull of wanting to enjoy every second with them with my need to capture those same moments.  Mel, you allowed me to truly enjoy this time around and that is worth it’s weight in gold.

To Auntie Susie and Uncle Mohsen for letting us invade your house the day before the wedding, to Grandma Lois for helping with my insane ideas and projects in time for the party and to absolutely everyone (all 50 or so of you) who came and made my little big girl feel like a princess for the day.  Thank you.  You are all so very appreciated.

A very memorable day indeed.  More pictures and details to come.

Merry Christmas to all…

To say that the average Christmas is hectic would be an understatement.  This one, even more so.  We’ve already had Christmas celebrations with 2 sets of grandparents and are gearing up for 3, 4, and 5 over the next week and a half.  In between then we have  a wedding celebration and a sweet little lady’s 5th birthday to plan and execute.

BUSY – but it’s a good busy.  A happy busy.  A lovely busy.

This year is one of those very, very rare occasions that we will see almost ALL of our family within the month of December to celebrate the holidays.  Being spread all over the continent can sometimes make getting ‘home’ for Christmas a little (a lot) tough. This year though, no grandparent goes un-hugged.  We will spend time with all of them and it brings on all sorts of happy for all of us.

The trade-off was that I abandoned the Christmas card idea pretty early on.  Real life faces are better than pictures any day, right? But I do love sending and receiving cards and am thankful to have received holiday greetings in my mailbox with wishes of a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from some of my most favourite people.  And I ask that you forgive us for not returning the favour.  Too much to do to prepare for 5 Christmases, 1 birthday and 1 wedding.  No time to sit and write cards telling you all how much you are missed and how much we wish only the happiest of holidays to you and yours.  But the thoughts and wishes are there, even if the mailbox does not show it.

With that said, happy holidays from the Fullertons.  We hope to be seein’ you in 2012!

Auntie Lizzie - Don’t forget to give a shout out to all the Aunts and Uncles you’ve been celebrating with…!!!

Thank you.

Wes, like most little people his age, loves Elmo.  LOVES.  And Elmo is everywhere these days, so hanging out with us ends up being more of a ‘Where’s Elmo?’ game than anything else.

Have I told you this before?  I’ve told at least one of you because when I arrived back at the house from walking the big girl to the bus stop, there was a little package sitting on top of the mailbox.

It was addressed to me.  There was a US customs slip that read ‘crocheted hat’.  The return address read Amy Off the Hook.  Cute.  A play on words for an obvious crocheter.

Inside was little guy:

Wes’ eyes literally bugged out of his head when he saw Elmo and he preceded to pull the hat on his head.  He kept it on for a record amount of time and would probably still have it on were it not for the fact that a wool hat is not the best ever sleep wear.

Now for the weird part.  I did not order this hat.  And I have no idea who sent it to us.  Amy Off the Hook is on etsy.com and lives in Utah.  She does not know who I am and she certainly doesn’t know about Wes’ current Elmo obsession.  So, it was one of you.

If it was you, thank you.  The hat is lovely and Wes loves it.  I’d love to be able to thank you personally for the uber sweet gesture though, so please, speak up!
