YOLO

As an aspiring photographer, I can easily say that, BY FAR, the hardest things for me to photograph are my own children.  I have to bribe, make deals, trick and lie to get them to play along with me.  Carrying sweets is an absolute must.  They just want nothing to do with it.

But then some days are magic.  This was one of those days.  So much so that after an impromptu photoshoot while Jaia was at dance camp went so well, Wes and I went back after dinner and finished up in the amazing glow of evening sun.

And if these weren’t enough, we closed off the day with wht might be my most favourite photo taken ever.  Epic.

Am I right?

Auntie Jenny - Absolutely adorable

Wishing for a little of this…

It is DRY around here.  That beautiful green grass you see above is brown and crispy and painful to walk across in bare feet.

I wouldn’t wish away the super-amazing-killer weather we’ve been enjoying, but a few short-lived afternoon rain showers would do wonders.

How are you beating the heat where you are?

New Uses for Old Things

So many you already do this. I did not until recently, but when I came up with it I felt like a genius. Well, a semi-genius anyway.

Do you have a little artist on your hands? I do. Two, in fact and they LOVE painting. They want to paint all the time.

Yours too? Well, next time you have these kicking around, keep ’em.

I use old styrofoam trays (from fruit and veggies only – the meat ones gross me out) or coffee lids to put and mix the paint on. Then they can bring out their inner Picasso while reducing, reusing and recycling.  Also makes clean up a breeze.

Do you have any new uses for old things that you think are genius (or semi-genius)?
