Realization

A copy of Jaia’s school newsletter arrived today.  Her last of the year.  June 2012.  As I read it through, it dawned on me that, in one month, she won’t be a kindergartener anymore.

In grade 1 you are bigger, older, more responsible.  Not one of the tiny littles anymore.  Full day school.

Wow.  Unreal.  And happening a little too fast.  Wasn’t this just yesterday?

Just super.

For his birthday gift, a cape and mask.  And one for his sister, too.  Hours of imaginative play and many, many, many rescues to come.

We can all feel much, much safer with these two on the job.

Dan - he looooooves his Super Big Sister!

Seven.

Some numbers just jump up and slap you in the face.  This year, this day, that is exactly what happened.

Seven years ago today Dan and I were married.  The weather, pretty much exactly the same as it was today (in Ottawa).  The day, pretty much perfect.

Happy anniversary, Dan.  I love you.

Busy bees

So, between a lot of this:

And this:

we have been busy, busy bees.  We are finally at a point after 5 days where the banging, smashing, hammering and drilling are almost done and my head has never been so happy.

The project that we thought would take only a few days has far surpassed that, even though Dan and his dad have barely taken a break between 8 am and 11:30 pm every single day.  They are tired.  Exhausted even.  But they are powering through. In the end though, all this work will make the finished product that much more appreciated.

Stay tuned for a proper update and GIANT SIZED Wesley birthday post in the coming days.
