The resemblance uncanny!

There are some great TV shows on PBS, including Sesame Street, which has changed a lot since my day!  Most of it is taken up by shows within a show like Elmo’s World and Global Grover.  All the old muppets are there though – Oscar is still such a grouch!

We’ve stumbled upon It’s a Big, Big World recently, which is about a group of rain forest animals that live in a big tree.  The lead character is Snook, a sloth.  Every time he comes on screen, Jaia says “Daddy!”.  Maybe she thinks I’m in the Snook suit, but it’s more likely that she thinks I look like him.

I’ve decided to take it as a compliment.  😐

Chris - You know, we’ve seen that show too, and I always thought that sloth-looking thing looked familiar.

Kris - Team Jaia. I see it.

Before we forget – September 25th

This conference I’m attending has been in the works for months.  And in less than 3 hours it’s over.  I cannot wait.  Life gets back to normal at home and at work after this trip is over.  Hopefully the stress lowers a bit so that we can really, really enjoy the little things again.

Julie - You warm my heart 🙂 Hopefully i’ll be in Ottawa soon and i’ll get to see you and your family again.

Shannen - Awwww Julie. I hope you visit Ottawa soon too. I only wish you were bringing the kiddos with you so I could finally meet them! Keep me posted.

There's no place like home

I am sitting in a beautiful hotel room.  I am smack dab in the middle of a business trip and I am much too far away from home.

This is offically the most amount of time I’ve ever spent away from Jaia.  I was on the fence about how I felt as the cab pulled away.  On the one hand, I would be spending three full nights away from Jaia and her dad.  Tough on me.  I’m not normally the one who leaves.  And I certainly wasn’t too keen on missing three full days.

And then on the other hand (and trying to focus on the positives), I’d be sleeping in a king-sized bed, all by my lonesome, with no one to wake me but the dull ring of the phone at my 7:00 wake-up call.  It all sounded so dreamy.

Turns out I really, really, really miss being at home. I mean, with a face like this, wouldn’t you?

Jaia - We miss you too mamma. You are the best mamma I could ever have asked for. Hurry home!

Before we forget – September 16th

Jaia’s daycare provider sends us pics every day of her adventures.  Yesterday they played outside in the rain 🙂

Chris - Holy crap! Apparently it’s been too long since we’ve seen Jaia, because I barely even recognize her there. Maybe it’s because she’s not usually wearing a raincoat. :-/
