I had it all written and ready to go.  I even had a line-up of photos to post but WordPress.com, our blog host, decided that wasn’t the way it was going to go down.  I didn’t end up with enough time to write it again, before heading home to celebrate in person.  So Dan didn’t get his birthday post this year.

Bad wife.  Bad, bad blogger wife.

Happy birthday to you, my Dan…A day late and a dollar short.  Ok, two days late.

Dan - Fanks 🙂 I had a wonderful day with my girls.

And yes, that scarf IS from a real zebra. Its name was Clovis.

shannen - Clovis was the elephant.

Dan - You’re thinking of Clovis Thompson. I’m talking about Clovis Beechwood.

I understand the confusion.

Care and Concern

I didn’t mean to sound so ambiguous in my last post.  The news was still fresh and I wasn’t ready to talk/post about it.  I’m still not.  But because so many of you have written, called, checked in with friends, I thought it right that I post again.

Dan, Jaia and I are ok.  But someone we love very much is sick.  It was not news we were expecting and it wasn’t news we wanted to hear.

Thanks to you all for thinking of us and I promise to try harder to keep in touch in the future.

We did not have the weekend we’d planned.  We received some bad news and then stayed hidden inside – not taking pictures.  I could back-date, but I don’t want to.  So, I’m forfeiting days 41-43.  And I’m ok with that.

And because I’m finally back in action, I thought I’d post a ridiculous one of the Humph and his sidekick from a walk the other day.  Enjoy.

Heather - Bad news is never fun. Sorry to hear that. Hope everything is ok 🙂

In better news, that pic of Humph and Jaia is gold.

Kris - I love the Humph’s face. He always looks like he’s smiling.
