One year ago today…

It was cold and I had no warm clothes.  It was raining and I had no umbrella.  And yet, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

One year ago today, Liz and I had just arrived in Paris, met up with Carrie and Joel and were probably exploring.  And drinking wine.  And definitely eating cheese and baguettes.  Boy, did we do that well.

I don’t know when a trip back to Paris will happen, but it will.  It has to.  It’s a city we should all play a little in at one time or another…

Heather - Agree. It is my favourite city in the whole world. By the time I went back for the 4th time, it felt almost like home. Ha, I wish!!

Friday Goodness – April 23

Friday again?  YESSSS!

1.  DAN POSTING – It’s such a rarity for me to open forgetful and see a post I did not write.  But it makes me happy.  Especially when that post is a video of Jaia.  After watching it, we were inspired to open uo our YouTube videos and watch some of the older ones.  I felt my heart plump up a little as I watched her as a wee one.  I can’t believe how fast she’s growing… Note to self:  Take more videos.

2.  6 DAYS – We have less than a week until my mom arrives.  YAY!

3.  PHOTO SEASON – Or that’s how it feels to me, anyway.  I still take pictures in the winter, but it’s not the same.  I love that it stays light out until 7:30 or 8:00 and that I’m barely restricted by weather.  I have a few photoshoots planned/scheduled for the next little while and am hoping for more.  It’s photo season, why not take advantage…?

4.  ETSY – Have you shopped there before?  I have and I love it.  It’s my go-to when looking for something original and lately I’ve found oodles of goodies.  I’ve ordered a few things that are on their way and I have to admit, I’m like a kid at Christmas, running to check the mailbox every day to see if they’ve arrived.  I’m hoping today is the day.

5.  MAKE BELIEVE – Jaia has an amazing imagination.  I’ve recently  discovered that she doesn’t get it from me.   Dan, maybe.  But either way, she blows me away with how creative she is sometimes.  And I can’t keep up.  I’m just not that creative.  Her favourite is putting on ‘plays’, as she calls them, and acting out scenes to the Princess Jaia stories we tell her at bedtime.  But she also loves to play shopper (:)), with her dolls, doctor and my personal favourite, hair salon.  She gathers up all the hair accessories, brushes and sprays and proceeds to cut and style my hair.  And it’s like a dream come true.  Someone asking me to sit there while they play with my hair for a half hour at a time.  Honestly, it’s a itty bitty slice of heaven…

It’s Friday.  It’s sunny.  What are you up to?

Dan - My new cell phone makes it really easy to upload video to youtube … that was my first try, and it won’t be the last. We really should take more video … it’s so amazing to be able to go back and watch it. The 15th princess play can be a bit painful, but it’s so great to see her imagination at play. I agree that I could be part of the hairdresser play all day.
