Day 72 – A hat with a history.

Dan’s grandma Sweet and aunt Susan sent Jaia an awesome care package a little while ago. It was full of fun surprises, but one of the most interesting, was a bonnet that Jaia’s great great grandmother had knit. Grandma Sweet found it in her things and sent it along for Jaia to enjoy.

This was our first attempt to ‘tie’ a hat to her head. She often fusses when we put a hat on her, and so securing one with ribbon could have been tricky. Thankfully she seemed to understand the weight of the history behind the bonnet and sat happily while the paparazzi took photos. Here’s one of my favourites.

Heather - I look forward to checking this blog everyday because seeing pictures of babies makes me smiley and happy and it just feels good. So even if you never wrote anything interesting (which you definately do) I would STILL check it every day for my daily dose of Jaia cuteness.
Definately NOT boring. And I don’t even have kids. Yet.

Ps. That’s a hot bonnet.

Kel Parsons - She has the CHUBBIEST cheeks! I just want to SQUISH her! YUM!

shannen - Heather – Thanks. It’s awesome that you visit for my shameless daily doses of Jaia. It’s awesome to see that others are actually enjoying the pics.

Day 70 – Double digits

Jaia is 10 weeks old. I can’t believe 10 weeks have passed already.

To celebrate, she wanted to sit in her Bumbo chair. Isn’t that how you’d want to celebrate?

Jen - Wow she is getting big!

She has changed a lot even since I have been there.

I wish I could come for monthly visits!

shannen - I wish you could too. You are right, she is a totally different kid. She was just starting to smile when you were here. Now she’s smiling all the time and the newest feat is that she’s able to hold her head up! It’s awesome.

Kel Parsons - Bumbo chair? That sounds a bit naughty. It has the word BUM in it!

Oh. Sorry. It’s that kind of a day.

She’s the squishingest little baby I ever saw. I want to devour her!

New addiction.

I admit it.  I tried my first pair of Lululemon pants on this weekend and I’m already hooked.  I had heard from so many people that these pants could change your life, but to be honest, I thought they were all nuts.  Sweat pants…for $100?  Ummm…no thanks.

But over the past couple of years I became curious.  Curious enough to decide to try a pair after having Jaia.  I figured that I should take full advantage of a year sans work clothes by sporting a kick ass pair of comfy pants.  It was going to be the gift I gave to myself for getting back to my pre-baby size.

lululemon.jpgAnd after standing in front of the massive wall of pants for about 10 minutes, looking confused, I finally chose a pair.  The Reverse Groove Pant.  They are black with a lovely stripe of orange and pretty stripe of pink at the waist.  And of course, they are completely reversible.

I tried them on and the rain stopped.  The clouds parted.  The sun shone through.  A rainbow appeared.  Ok, that’s a bit much, but they really are the most comfortable things I’ve ever had on.  The friends that I thought were nuts were actually pretty bang on.  I’m not sure the pants will actually ‘change my life’, but my bottom half may look a hell of a lot better from now on.  Thanks for the heads up, Ladies.  I never should have questioned your expertise.

I still can’t imagine paying close to $100 for a sweatshirt, but after this weekend’s experience, you just never know.

Kristin - Enjoy, my friend. And two years worth of washings down the road, they will still look just as great as they do right now. Seriously.

Told ya.

Jen - I’m glad you love them as much as I do!

March 12, 2007 - 3:54 pm

Heather - LuLu Lemon.

I have a redonkulous number of the pants pants – the reverse groove are my favorite.

I also own a few of their work out tanks – they make your boobs look great – very important when working out. Or sitting on the couch.

As for the sweatshirts – they are my absolute FAVORITE item of clothing. I have one in aqua blue, chocolate brown, and black. They may come to $97 with tax but they are the best quality and so warm.

HIGHLY ENDORSED.

Get a hoodie. Dooo it. Love yourself.

Kristin - I’ll second the hoodie motion. They are called Scuba hoodies and I have two and they are also my favorite items of clothing. In fact, I will be increasing my collection by one (1) this week. Amazing quality.

Bad news though…apparently they are getting more expensive soon because they’re going to start making them a bit longer….? I don’t know…word on the street is that they are going to be different sometime soon.

Diane Belanger - Hey Shannen,

I was thinking of getting a pair myself as we bought Anneliese a pair a couple of years ago for Christmas and I had to get over the ticker shock of paying $100 for workout wear!

Having said that Annie looooooooves hers and I am glad to know about the hoodie…good idea for Birthday!

Thanks ladies!
