Well, unfortunately for my camera, I am forced to stand corrected. We confirmed this morning that we are, in fact, having a little bambina. I’m shocked. Happy and elated. But shocked.
So here goes. Dan was right. I was wrong. I will likely never live this down. The moral of the story is that confidence is best when you actually have fact to back it up. Apparently, intuition is not all that reliable.
Dan: I guess we are going video game shopping. Damn.
Kris: Peanut Butter Pie is on me. Let’s go soon. (No one else took me up on my offer. Suckers.)
Angela: Man I have a big mouth. My last minute promise to you was probably not the best idea – but I look forward to it. Name the time and place. We’ll just have to make sure they serve big helpings of humble pie.
My apologies to all of you (Liz, Jen, Lisa, in particular) who had confidence in my confidence.
The excellent news is that all seems well. Peanut is progressing as she should be and it looks like we’re on track for having a healthy little one. Music to my ears.
dan - I won’t gloat too much, other than to say score one for objective evidence as final arbiter. That is to say – intuition my bum!
There was really no downside to the outcome – I would have been happy with either. The best part was when they said everything looks good.
Currently searching online for the lowest price copy of Oblivion. I may be all bug-eyed and pasty next time you see me outside of the house …
Shannen - And unfortunately, I won’t have a new camera lens to capture his bug-eyes and pasty skin with. I’ll just have to use the old one…………..As if anyone needs to see it.
I am carrying the baby – I should get a new lens just for doing a damn good job of it. 🙂
Kris - OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In a sea of boys, you are producing the first baby girl for me to dote on in the FULL FOUR YEARS I’ve lived in Ottawa. Boys everwhere.
AND NOW A GIRL!
I could seriously not be more excited for you guys. And for my new pseudo-niece.
And for my free peanut-butter pie.
I KNEW it!
Kris - On second thought…I should have thrown a few more exclamation points in there.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gary - Shannen, on the plus side of having a girl, you can’t name her Naveed. I know that Dan was heavily set on Naveed.
Auntie Karne - Shan,
Does this mean you won’t be calling the baby SPIKE.
Congrats to you and Dan.
Love ya
Sonja - Fabulous news! I already know what I’ll get her for her 5th birthday – a fairy princess costume complete with a tutu, magic wand, and little crown.
Lizzie Jean - Hooray for my very first little neice!!!!!!!
I would have been happy either way…because girl or boy it’s learning to play rugby 🙂
