Day 41 – It begins…

Smiles.

Wes smiled at Jaia first.  Then came smiles for Dan.  Oodles and oodles of them.  Then nothing.  Nothing for me.  Even though I’m the one who feeds him and gave him life.  I’m just as funny as Dan, aren’t I?

There was nothing, that is, until a few days ago.  My feet tickles and silly songs were finally rewarded with a beautiful smile.  And then another and another. 🙂

Unfortunately, when you are the smile maker, capturing a decent, un-blurry shot with your camera is more difficult than I expected.  Here is the best I could get today:

Day 40 – Beach Blanket Baby

We spent the afternoon at the beach with Gramps.  Jaia played in the water hunting for clam shells and building sand castles.  Wes and I, well, we chilled on the blanket and watched.

And then Jaia spotted a cute boy and made eyes at him.  I’m not joking.

Baby Pool Winner!

Belated congratulations go out to Katie Avery, with a guess of 8 lbs 7 oz! Starbucks goodness is on its way to you. It might be delivered by a singing telegram person. Or might not. Time will tell.

Auntie Shirley tried to also guess 8 lbs 7 oz, with the logic of 1 lb heavier than Jaia was at 7 lbs 7 oz. Unfortunately, Katie had already claimed that territory. Auntie Shirley’s consolation prize was meeting Wes in person on Tuesday … I think she’s happy with that 🙂
