March Break: Day Two.

Day two saw us down to 1 kid.  Wes went off to daycare, as he always does on Tuesday, so my gal and I got to spend some quality time together.

The day started off with a call from one of Jaia’s besties, to see if we could meet up.  As luck would have it, we had no plans and  jumped at the chance.  The plan: meet at the mall, with 95, 000 of our closet friends who were also avoiding the rain.  It was crowded, involved line-ups and waiting around, but the coffee was warm and the company grand, so we stayed and played.  And had lollypops.

Unfortunately, before we made it to mall, we had a date with a needle.  Jaia had to have a blood test and the impending doom of the day was weighing on my girl for weeks.  Today was the day.  She put on her bravest face and away we went to hurry up and wait (theme of the day).

After an hour it was our turn.  And it wasn’t pretty.  No one appreciates getting needles, but least of all 6 year olds, or so it seemed today in that office.

Pretty purple band-aids help.  Sort of.

Our visit to the mall was followed up with an impromptu ‘Ladies Who Lunch’ and a little shopping for the 47 birthday parties Jaia has this weekend. Ok, it’s actually only 3, but still so many.  I don’t think I was really prepared for how many birthday parties they would be invited to every weekend once they go to school and join sports teams.  The kids, though, love every second of it.  So, this mama will happily play along and play chauffeur.  Giddy up.
