All dressed up!

This is the first Halloween that Jaia truly had an opinion about she would dress up as.  And the costume you see above was not her first choice.  Not even close.

She wanted to be a vampire.  With scary teeth.  And dripping blood.

But halfway through my search I started noticing that there weren’t any vampire costumes for little girls that weren’t more like TRAMPire.  Seriously skanky.  All were tight (too tight) and revealing (waaaay too revealing).  Not cool for a 4 year old.

But really, it wasn’t the costume she was stuck on, so changing her mind wasn’t that tough.  I just had to find a way to incorporate the vampire teeth she was so keen on wearing.  And then I came up with an ingenious idea.  Bumblebee + vampire teeth = Killer bee!!  She loved it.  My plan worked.

And then we waited until it was too late to shop for vampire teeth and ended up with none.  (Tsk tsk, Mama.)

Bumblebee it was.  But somehow, once she was all dressed up with wings and stripey tights and yellow poof headband and bumblebee wand, the teeth didn’t matter.  They certainly did not.

And Wes, well, he was the most perfect zebra around.

And they may have enjoyed themselves a little.

(The above was not even staged.  I swear.  They were that happy.  Or maybe the after affects of the sugar they’d already consumed.)

But mostly, they just ran wild.  And jumped.  And trick or treated their little hearts out.

And their bums.

And I wouldn’t change a thing.
