This year has brought another new adventure. Jaia, for the first time, is taking the bus to and from school.
It was completely her choice. And she seems to really enjoy the independence.
But for me it’s bittersweet. On the one hand it is a time/stress saver for me – having to wake Wes up from his nap to run out to the school multiple times in the middle of winter last year was less than fun.
But on the other hand, it is just another stark reminder of how big she’s getting. A real little lady.
I have to admit though, Wes and I are truly enjoying our walk over to the bus stop every afternoon while we wait for the girl to arrive (except for today when the bus was 15 minutes late and no one was answering the phone at the school),
We drop rocks in the sewer, pick dandelions, wave at city buses and look for airplanes together, but mostly we wait.
