You saw all the fun details a few days ago, but they were seriously only a wee slice of the fun we had the day of the party. What a difference it is for us to be celebrating a birthday in the spring. Jaia’s first birthday party was scheduled for January 1 and was met with a HUGE snow storm.
Wes’ birthday, on the other hand, was bright, sunny and warm. He couldn’t agree more. (Check out the most awesome monster shirt ever. Thank you, H&M).

Wesley did not win. But his tail was not the worst one…
The day was busy and LOUD and fun and just what we hoped for our little man. I know, in the years to come, his first birthday will be a blur, but not to me. I’ll remember every detail. And I’ll tell him stories of how happy he was, how he mastered walking just in time to show it off, how he went from guest to guest to greet them in his own way and how he pulverized that cake in seconds. I bet he’ll like the cake story best.
