Mother’s Day

A day late and a dollar short. Mother’s Day snuck up on me this year.  I was completely unprepared.  Cards, lovingly made by Jaia, were ready but not sent out in time.  We had to settle for phone calls to send our love to the moms/grandmas in our lives.

But, what makes it extra bad this year, is that my mom was actually in town.  She’d been here for a week.  And Dan and the kids made sure to get me cards and make me breakfast in bed, but I had none of that to offer to my own mama.

What I do have to offer, is a heartfelt thanks.  She has always, always, always been there when I needed her, but over the last few days, weeks and months, she (and Dave) have gone above an beyond for us.  Seriously.  I owe so much to her and no small internet thanks could ever do it justice.

So I just hope this little note reminds her of how much she is needed, how much she is appreciated, and most of all, just how much she is loved.
