If you’ve spent any amount of time with Jaia over the last little while you know what a chatterbox she’s become.  She talks non-stop.  She tells us the details of her day, she makes decisions about what she’d like to do or eat or read and she’s now able to have conversations with her grandparents on the phone.  She went from knowing single words for things to using (almost) full sentences overnight.  I love how well we can communicate back and forth sometimes.

But every now and then she throws me a curveball and takes me completely by surprise.  Monday, as I picked her up from daycare – a job that Dan has been doing since the start of the bus strike in early December – Jaia leaned towards me in her carseat and said, “Jaia happy to see you, Mama” with a big smile on her face.

If she could only know how much seeing her face at the end of each day is always the best part of my day.  She’s so amazing to be around.  And she keeps finding teeny and wonderful ways of warming my heart, reminding me how lucky I am to be her mom.
