Tomorrow, while the kids are at school I’m going to whip up a cake for my little dude. And we’ll celebrate. You see, tomorrow he turns three and a half.
We’ve been half birthday celebrators over here. Think it lame if you will, but I like finding reasons to celebrate, even the smallest things. Because, why not?
Funny thing is, Wes isn’t happy about it. He wants to be 4 already and is kind of pissed about the whole only being 3.5 business. He thinks that being 4 is more fun. At 4 you go to big kid school, you sit in a booster seat, and you sit with friends at assemblies (we attended Jaia’s Remembrance Day ceremony and dud wanted to be with the kids, not his mama). At 4 you are bigger and at 3 you are still small.
But no matter. Tomorrow, Wes will turn three and half years old, and we will sing and eat cake and he’ll think, even for a short time, that not yet being 4 is actually pretty cool, just like him.
