My baby has a cold. And it came out of nowhere. It’s not really anything more than a run-of-the-mill cold, but it’s Jaia’s first and my first time as a mama with a sick baby. Not fun. Her nose is running a wet, sticky, gooey marathon and her cough sounds like that of a 70 year-old smoker. For a first time, it’s a doozy.
I feel so bad for her. She’s reacting like any of us would. She’s clingy and whiny and frustrated at all the extra gunk hanging out in her sinuses, but unlike everyone else over the age of 2 or 4 (or whatever), there’s nothing she can take to make herself feel better. We just have to wait it out. And I don’t think ‘patient’ is a word I would often use to describe an 11 month-old (or her mother).
This is gonna be a long night. Poor little stuffed up bean.
Kris - Poor little munchkin. Colds are so miserable. I hope she’s on the mend today!
Heatherness - Aww! Poor lil Jaia!! Hope she feels better soon!!
In other news…James and I are going to be babysitting a 3 mos old on Saturday night…just call us parents-in-training.
Shannen - 3 months. How very brave.
You can always practice on an 11 moth-old too if you like. We are always up for offers of babysitting. Oh wait. You live a billion miles away. That won’t work.
On to Plan B.
Alicia - I’m not a billion miles away, book me. Book me!!!
I hereby offer 2 nights of December babysitting. Anytime, anywhere! The girls are ACHING to see Jaia.
Take me up on it. SERIOUSLY.
