Terry Fox Run 2011

Dan and I spent the summer prepping, fundraising for and sweating about The Ride the Rideau.  In fact, I put very little thought to much else.  And then it ended.  We did it and it was over.

And it’s not that I need to fill a hole, but I started to notice the signs around town for the Terry Fox Run.  I thought back to last year when Jaia did her first walk and how she really took an interest in Mr. Fox and what he did.  I thought it might be fun for all of us to take part together this year.

A quick website visit told me that this is my kind of run.  I can sign up on the day of.  I can donate what I want.  I can do the run anytime between 9 and 1pm.  A procrastinators dream run.

So this Sunday, Dan and I and the kids are going to lace up our shoes and do our first 5 k all together.  I’ve also already recruited Liz and Alicia to join us.  I’d love if more would come out.  I don’t need to remind you of the importance of this run, and specifically THIS run.  It is taking place not only here in Orleans, but also downtown and in cities all across Canada.

If you are without plans this Sunday, why not run 1, 5 or 10K and Terry’s dream alive.  If you are local and want to run with us, let me know.
