Kel Parsons -Well, just remember the immortal economist John Maynard Keynes’ assertion when it comes to long-term projections, etc.: In the long run, we’re all dead.

Dave -To make matters worse, the US imposes a duty of $0.54 a gallon on ethanol imports from Brazil made from sugar cane as opposed to feed corn. Because the US and Canada use feed corn for ethanol, food and fuel prices are inflated while there is an excess of sugar cane which can’t be used for feed. Incidentally the energy yield conversion on sugar cane ia about 5:1; on corn it is about 1.5:1.
Government may be stupid but we chose every member of Congress and Parliament!
