The littlest one…

He sees her with her team. He wanders over.

He doesn’t understand why he can’t play. He wants to join in the fun. He wants to be with his big sister, to sit beside her with the other kids.

But not today.

Someday soon, too soon,  he’ll be big enough. He’ll probably tower over her in a few years.

But not today.

Today he is the littlest one, watching from the sidelines. And today I’m ok with that.
