Lovely Bones

We moved into our new house in December.  It’s a lovely house.  Well, the bones of it are, anyway.

When you look at a house and think about buying it, you have to look past SO MUCH.  In our case, we had to look past terrible decor (can you say burgundy and forest green?) and 25 years of somewhat shoddy repairs and pseudo updates.  But we did just that.  We looked past it and saw real potential.  This house, from the outset, met every one of our ‘must haves’ for our forever house so we knew that if we could put our stamp on it, it would be perfect for us.

And then we moved in.  And all the things that we either didn’t notice when we visited the first couple of times became painfully obvious.  And we realized that the work we thought we’d have to do was increasing by the minute.  Now that we are almost settled in, we’ve found something we want to finish/change/update in every single room in the house.  Every. Single. Room.

The good news is that we have plenty of time.  Forever, in fact.  The bad news is that a couple of the projects are ENORMOUS.  And therefore, will have to wait a little bit before being tackled.  That means living with some things for awhile.  Other things, smaller things are more within reach.  And those are the things we plan to work on right away.

And to make it more fun, I’m going to take you along for the ride.

I finished my very first room transformation a couple of hours ago and once I am able to snap a few ‘after’ shots tomorrow when the light is best, I’ll post them.   So excited.

Stay tuned.
