Torino 2006. I couldn’t be more excited.

Those who know me well know that I love the Olympics. Especially the winter Olympics. No matter the event, I find myself perched in front of the television for what ends up to be hours on end. I’m not even sure I can narrow down my favourite event, so I watch them all – even figure skating, which I would not tolerate otherwise.

So the countdown is on. Five more sleeps until the opening ceremony. Five more sleeps until it all begins. I’ve been waiting four long years, and it’s finally here. My only beef is the time difference. I understand that we have to share the games with countries in other time zones, but my sleep schedule
always takes a serious beating. Thankfully, we can keep track of the as-they-happen standings and take part in the re-broadcasts of major events at more reasonable times. CBC.ca can also help you find out everything you ever wanted to know about any Canadian athelete competing this time around.

So…if you are looking for me between February 10th and 26th, you’ll know exactly where to find me. Though I warn you – you may have to sport a skin-tight leotard with Canada written on the thigh and a pair of skis to get me to pay attention.

GO CANADA!
