Snow More.

There was a snow storm in Virginia almost 2 weeks ago.  It crippled the area.  Businesses were closed for a week, and without a plough to take away the wall of snow on the streets for 3-4 days, everyone was snowed in.  And I mean, no way to leave your house snowed in.

The Federal Government officially called their employees back to work on Tuesday (8 days later) and today schools are still starting 2 hours late to allow the buses time to get around town.  Sidewalks are still not plowed and most streets are still half the width that they normally are with 4-6 feet tall snowbanks on either side.  All this for a part of the country that gets a dusting of 1-2 inches of snow a couple of times a winter and that’s considered a lot.

My parents talked about how much snow they’d had, but until we got here and saw for ourselves, it was hard to imagine.  Even a full week after the storm we were shocked.

I have to admit though, the idea of being snowed in for a week sounds kind of nice.  Having Dan home with us with no where to go and no errands to run.  Days spent playing, watching movies in your pjs, building snowmen, baking, napping and with no reason to turn on the computer.  Yep, I could handle a week of that.

EAP - I’m sure the enviro-weenies will find some way to blame this on “global warming”.

Sarah - Sign me up too! A little miss is sitting beside me saying hey that’s my Jaia!
