Most\u00a0women love shoes.\u00a0 Some more than others (not me), but even the\u00a0ones who don’t love shoes, love the look of a new pair of shoes and how they finish off an outfit, for example.\u00a0 I’m slightly out of the norm.\u00a0 Though I have a lot of shoes (far less than I used to since our major ‘crap purge’ of 2008), I don’t often buy shoes.\u00a0 And when i find a pair that\u00a0I like, I wear them to death.<\/p>\n
But every now and then I get the urge to add a new pair to my happy little shoe family.\u00a0 And when\u00a0I got this job, I celebrated with a couple of beauties.\u00a0 They are a deep cranberry red patin leather with a round toe and a wedge heel.\u00a0 They are stunning.\u00a0 And when\u00a0I got dressed this morning, I felt it was high time to break them out.<\/p>\n
I walked to the bus stop, rode all the way downtown and didn’t pay much attention to them.\u00a0 They are slightly snug, but they are new, and that’s to be expected.\u00a0 Once I was off the bus and heading toward my office, I noticed they were a little pinchy in a couple of spots, but again, didn’t pay much attention.\u00a0 It wasn’t until I got to my office and sat down, that I looked down.\u00a0 My beautiful, new, red shoes had made me bleed.\u00a0 It wasn’t dripping or gross, but these shoes are so kick ass, they bypassed the whole blister phase altogether and went straight for blood.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Will\u00a0this little bloody incident stop me from wearing them again?\u00a0 Absolutely not.\u00a0 Call me an optimist, but I just see it as part of the\u00a0whole ‘breaking them in’ phase.\u00a0 Next time they’ll just be a little more comfortable than they are today.\u00a0 I hope.\u00a0 My ankles can’t take much more abuse.\u00a0<\/p>\n
