{"id":7756,"date":"2014-01-04T22:08:07","date_gmt":"2014-01-05T03:08:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=7756"},"modified":"2014-01-10T11:56:07","modified_gmt":"2014-01-10T16:56:07","slug":"great-expectations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=7756","title":{"rendered":"Great Expectations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I read that this morning at 8am, Ottawa clocked its 78th hour in a row with temperatures below -38 degrees Celsius. \u00a0A new record. \u00a0For 77 hours and 52 minutes of those hours, we were stuck inside\u2026hiding away. \u00a0I&#8217;m kind of a wimp.<\/p>\n<p>Today, as the mercury started to rise (at last glance at dinner time it was close to -16 which is a HUGE improvement) I had BIG plans. \u00a0This morning (super husband) Dan took the kids out for groceries and then to a movie. \u00a0I wanted to get caught up on cleaning and then head to the gym. \u00a0Perhaps organize a closet or two. \u00a0Definitely do the laundry.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, I came down with a stomach bug and didn&#8217;t leave the house yet again. \u00a03-4 days of breathing recycled air. \u00a0No vitamin D. \u00a0No human contact outside my family (though I do admit, they are my favourites). \u00a0I have an extreme case of cabin fever.<\/p>\n<p>The temperature is supposed to rise overnight with a high of -1 (!!!) expected tomorrow. \u00a0The timing couldn&#8217;t be better. \u00a0We will be celebrating my birthday a day early. \u00a0With plans to go snowshoeing and spend a good chunk of the day outdoors drenching ourselves in fresh air and sunshine, I&#8217;m hoping that my belly takes a turn for the better as I turn in early on a day that had me horizontal for most of my waking hours.<\/p>\n<p>How do you plan to spend your last days of holidays? \u00a0My advice? \u00a0Eat cake. \u00a0I will be.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I read that this morning at 8am, Ottawa clocked its 78th hour in a row with temperatures below -38 degrees Celsius. \u00a0A new record. \u00a0For 77 hours and 52 minutes of those hours, we were stuck inside\u2026hiding away. \u00a0I&#8217;m kind of a wimp.
