<\/p>\nThe school year is over. \u00a0In the blink of an eye, 10 months passed and my little lady is heading off down the path to grade 2.<\/p>\n
Grade 1, by the numbers:<\/p>\n
– 1 new school<\/p>\n
– 2 new teachers<\/p>\n
– 3 lost teeth (in 3 different places: Virginia, Ottawa and Saskatoon)<\/p>\n
– read countless (literally) chapter books<\/p>\n
– made tons of new friends<\/p>\n
– played on 2 soccer teams<\/p>\n
– 8 plane rides<\/p>\n
– 2 AMAZING report cards<\/p>\n
-2 very proud parents<\/p>\n
The decision to change Jaia’s school was not an easy one. \u00a0If you know Dan and I, we are not very spontaneous people when it comes to the really big decisions. \u00a0(After actually creating a spreadsheet) we eventually decided that it was in Jaia’s best interest to start at a new school.<\/p>\n
The first few days were challenging, but since then, there was no doubt that we made the right choice. \u00a0Everything just seemed to fit. \u00a0And Jaia, well, she was off making new friends and excelling in school with very little but encouragement from us. \u00a0School is just her thing. \u00a0She loves everything about it (at least for a few more years…)<\/p>\n
And here we are wondering where the months went. \u00a0Without changing *that* much physically since September, Jaia is certainly a different little person. \u00a0She’s bright and charming and hilarious. \u00a0She’s quiet and confident and brave I have no doubt that she’ll approach grade 2 with the same level of excitement as she did grade 1.<\/p>\n
Until then, SCHOOL’S OUT! \u00a0Let the fun begin!<\/p>\n
