Sweet Wesley,<\/p>\n

As I finally<\/em> type this out, it actually hurts. \u00a0Putting down the words that you are already two years old makes it that much more real and breaks my heart just a little. \u00a0Cliche as it is, time really does speed by too fast, leaving us stunned in its wake. \u00a0I wish now that I’d squeezed just a little harder or stared just a little bit longer to take in the details of your sweet face or the smell of your new baby hair or the sound of your first giggle. \u00a0They seem so far away now.<\/p>\n

You are magic, my son.\u00a0 Pure magic. \u00a0 \u00a0 You are beautiful.\u00a0 You are curious.\u00a0 You are strong.\u00a0 You are exactly who you should be.\u00a0 Every single day I am amazed by the little man you are becoming.\u00a0 You tire me out, but by morning, I find myself eagerly peeking up at your doorway, anxious for your smile to find me yet again.\u00a0 And what a smile!\u00a0 It has joy and cheekiness and curiosity and smarts, all wrapped up into it.\u00a0 It truly makes me melt.<\/p>\n

Today you turned 2 and I feel like I’ve been counting the seconds, so anxious for this.\u00a0 You were a wonderful baby, but Little Boy, you are a fabulous two-year old.\u00a0 You are so clever.\u00a0 You knock the wind out of me with some of the stuff you say and do.\u00a0 Reminding me that you are ‘not a baby anymore, Mama.\u00a0 I’m a big boy now.”\u00a0 True.\u00a0 So very true. \u00a0 Your independence is sometimes crushing, as each day you seem to need me a little less. \u00a0But then, without missing a beat you reach out for me and I realize that you are my sweet little one who still loves me most. \u00a0I wouldn’t trade that for the world.<\/p>\n

You are the perfect complement to our family. \u00a0Completing us in every way. \u00a0Oh, my little dude, you couldn’t be more loved.<\/p>\n
