It slipped under the radar a few weeks back, but all of a sudden, without much warning at all, my boy turned 18 months. \u00a01.5 years. \u00a0Un-freaking-believable.<\/p>\n

The last 18 months have been fun-filled, somewhat sleepless, long, super busy, colourful, eye-opening but, most of all\u00a0they’ve been\u00a0truly amazing. \u00a0Wes is such a joy. \u00a0He is a super happy little dude. \u00a0And he’s cheeky. \u00a0He’s already started playing little tricks on us and watches us intently for our reaction. \u00a0I think we are in for some trouble in the next few years.<\/p>\n

He is talking up a storm, learning a ton of new words every day. \u00a0My latest favourites are the way he says Jaia (Gia), and his adorable version of thank you (tink yo) which he has begun to say unprompted.\u00a0 Looks like we may have another chatterbox on our hands.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first 18 months can be tough.\u00a0 So many bumps in the road as babies learn to sleep, eat, sit, move, walk and talk.\u00a0 But over the last few weeks we’ve really seen a change from baby to boy.\u00a0 Wes can comunicate with us.\u00a0 He tells us what he wants and doesn’t want.\u00a0 He’s more independent.\u00a0 He likes what he likes.\u00a0 He challenges us to see how much he can get away with.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But what hasn’t changed is how snuggly and loving he is.\u00a0 He still gives the best hugs.\u00a0 He still lights up when Dan or I enter the room.\u00a0 And no matter how much they squabble, his sister is still his hero.<\/p>\n

I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring.\u00a0 Happy 18 months, Wesley.<\/p>\n
