{"id":5306,"date":"2011-11-28T08:18:58","date_gmt":"2011-11-28T13:18:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=5306"},"modified":"2011-11-28T11:01:45","modified_gmt":"2011-11-28T16:01:45","slug":"misunderstandings-of-the-sweet-kind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=5306","title":{"rendered":"Misunderstandings of the sweetest kind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>#1<\/p>\n<p>In the car on Saturday to pick up our Christmas tree, I remind Jaia that we&#8217;ll be putting the tree on the roof (to get it home).<\/p>\n<p>-No, she cried. \u00a0We can&#8217;t put it on the roof.<\/p>\n<p>-But we have to, I explained. \u00a0There&#8217;s no room inside for a tree. \u00a0Where would it go?<\/p>\n<p>-But no, I don&#8217;t want it on the roof. \u00a0It&#8217;s cold outside.<\/p>\n<p>-I know, but trees live outside, so it won&#8217;t be cold.<\/p>\n<p>Saddened, she looked away. \u00a0A few minutes later she looked back and asked:<\/p>\n<p>-How will we get it on the roof? \u00a0Will Daddy put it up there?<\/p>\n<p>-Yes, I answered. \u00a0Anyone who buys a real tree puts it on the roof .<\/p>\n<p>Even more saddened, she looked at me and asked, But how will we get our presents off the roof?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>#2<\/p>\n<p>We attended our local Santa Claus Parade on Saturday. \u00a0The weather was perfect and with some sneaky moves, we were able to get some prime seating. \u00a0About halfway through, a float went by and Jaia starts saying, &#8220;Frank Sinatra! \u00a0Look, it&#8217;s Frank Sinatra!! \u00a0I have to go home and tell Nana that Frank Sinatra was at the parade!!!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I look up to see a float driving by with Elvis shaking his pelvis up on the front. \u00a0Elvis, not Frank Sinatra, but both loved by her Nana and therefore interchangeable. \u00a0And adorable.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Monday!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>#1 In the car on Saturday to pick up our Christmas tree, I remind Jaia that we&#8217;ll be putting the tree on the roof (to get it home). -No, she cried. \u00a0We can&#8217;t put it on the roof. -But we have to, I explained. \u00a0There&#8217;s no room inside for a tree. \u00a0Where would it go?
