My work travel has been fairly light since Jaia’s arrival, which has been great.\u00a0 It’s tough leaving the girls – both because I miss them terribly, but also because it’s tough on Mamma to not have a break from the Bean for that long.<\/p>\n

But, it’s part of the job, and it was inevitable that I leave tomorrow for 10 days, at a time when things are changing fast, if the last few posts are any indication!\u00a0 What major milestone will I miss?\u00a0 Against all odds, will “mamma” be her first word if I’m not around to lobby for “dada”?\u00a0 Will she get her first job?<\/p>\n

All of this had me worried, until I brought my concerns to Jaia.\u00a0 First, she pointed out that mamma will have help while I’m gone – a visit by “The Amazing Nanna” (she even wears a cape!).\u00a0 She has also assured me that development in all major skill areas comes to a shuddering halt as soon as I get into that taxi, to resume upon my return.\u00a0 And I know I can trust her.\u00a0 She’s a Fullerton.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
