I used to write here every once in a while, posting my latest bizarre find<\/a> from the world wide web, reporting on my latest<\/a> travel<\/a> adventure, or just letting some stream-of-consciousness drivel<\/a> loose on the world. I’ve been quiet recently.\u00a0 And I hope that you don’t think that it’s because of you, dear reader.\u00a0 It’s not you.\u00a0 It’s me.<\/p>\n

Recording thoughts for posterity isn’t the only hobby that’s fallen off the priority list.\u00a0 It joins doing fun things with my wife, running, reading, walking the dog, video games<\/a>, electronics tinkering, and home improvements at the bottom of the dust bin of my mind.<\/p>\n

In a period I will call AJ, I used to maintain a fairly healthy life balance.\u00a0 In the last year (let’s call that PJ), that’s all fallen apart.\u00a0 Earthquake #1 was an adorable little creature named Jaia<\/a>, who is terribly fun but an incredibly time-consuming being to keep alive and stimulated.\u00a0 Earthquake #2 was a job change that was welcome, needed and refreshing, but fills the vast majority of my waking hours.<\/p>\n

I’m slowly adjusting.\u00a0 Humph got a walk last night in the freshly fallen snow.\u00a0 I’ve started reading for pleasure again.\u00a0\u00a0 We’re trying to commit to one night a week where instead of eating at 4:30pm with Jaia, we wait until she goes to bed to prepare dinner, keep the TV off and reconnect.<\/p>\n
