We had a birthday party for Wes a few weeks ago. \u00a0It was a riot. \u00a0I thought loooong anf hard about the theme of the party. \u00a0I was being picky. \u00a0It had to be just right. \u00a0And I didn’t want run-of-the-mill. Yes, it turns out I am that<\/em> Mama. \u00a0And then I found it. \u00a0It was perfect and suited my little man to a T. \u00a0A little monster party!!<\/p>\n

Seriously. \u00a0Have you met him?<\/p>\n

So. once I had that down, the other details fell into place.<\/p>\n

The invitation was lovingly created just for Wes by party designer extraordinaire, Melissa Walker (website to come soon!) \u00a0Isn’t it awesome??!!<\/p>\n

And then there were craft projects<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But my favourite part was the yummies: Cupcakes.<\/p>\n

Or should I say individually designed, personal little blue monsters.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Meet the whole crew! \u00a0My fave is the bottom right. \u00a0Or the one with the ‘stache.<\/p>\n

I had the most incredible little helper. \u00a0I mean, imagine how difficult it would have been to clean off the spoons and beaters by hand? \u00a0Jaia’s method was faster and far more efficient.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And now for Wes’ cake – it was a regular sized cake and I fully intended for almost none to be actually consumed.<\/p>\n

Word to the wise: \u00a0Dark blue icing stains everything it comes in contact with. \u00a0Everything.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

My superstar mom crocheted this in one night for the birthday boy. \u00a0How fantastic is he? \u00a0He’s yet to be named. \u00a0Any suggestions?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Out of all the parties we’ve had around here, this was, by far, the most fun to put together. \u00a0My parents were in town and a MASSIVE help which probably helped make it feel like more fun and less work. \u00a0But it was awesome. \u00a0 For the grown ups (and older kids), anyway. \u00a0Wes barely noticed all the well thought out details but delighted in the smothering of love he received. \u00a0It was exactly as it should be.<\/p>\n
