{"id":4684,"date":"2011-05-20T02:50:07","date_gmt":"2011-05-20T02:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=4684"},"modified":"2011-05-20T02:50:07","modified_gmt":"2011-05-20T02:50:07","slug":"cool-as-a-cucumber","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=4684","title":{"rendered":"Cool as a cucumber."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_0291sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4685\" title=\"IMG_0291sm\" src=\"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_0291sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_0291sm.jpg 700w, http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_0291sm-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lately I&#8217;ve been more forgetful than usual. \u00a0The kids and I spend an awful lot of time retracing steps or going back home before we get to where we are going because I forgot something. \u00a0It&#8217;s beyond ridiculous.<\/p>\n<p>The funny thing is that I somehow thought the kids wouldn&#8217;t notice. \u00a0Even though they are always with me when I&#8217;m retracing steps and backtracking. \u00a0But it turns out that my little sprite is very observant.<\/p>\n<p>So the other day we were out and I put my hat and phone down on a shelf while I put Wes&#8217; coat on. \u00a0And then I walked away. \u00a0We got back to the car and were all buckled in when I realized that I hadn&#8217;t picked up my things from the shelf. \u00a0I panicked. \u00a0Got the kids back out of the car at warp speed, ran back and found my hat and phone right where I left them.<\/p>\n<p>As we walked back to the car, Jaia says, &#8220;Mama, you lose things a lot, don&#8217;t you?&#8221; \u00a0I responded that yes, I did indeed lose things often. \u00a0I&#8217;m very forgetful.<\/p>\n<p>She stops, thinks for a a minute and then says, &#8220;You are a loser.&#8221; \u00a0Initially shocked, but then after I took in the super cute innocence of her comment, I said, &#8220;You can say that again!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So she replies, &#8220;You are a loser.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lately I&#8217;ve been more forgetful than usual. \u00a0The kids and I spend an awful lot of time retracing steps or going back home before we get to where we are going because I forgot something. \u00a0It&#8217;s beyond ridiculous.
