So the renos I mentioned I was doing were mis-labelled. \u00a0They are more like updates. \u00a0I promised Dan a full year off from having to tear anything out, replace anything or any serious manual labour, and so far \u00a0I’ve kept my word. \u00a0So the big renos will have to wait. \u00a0And until then, we can chip away at all the little things that we can tackle easily, but that still make a big impact.<\/p>\n

My first project was our master bathroom. \u00a0Thankfully, this room had already been remodelled quite nicely before we moved in. \u00a0So all I had to do was paint. \u00a0And did I ever. \u00a0The people that lived here before us loved burgundy. \u00a0I do not love burgundy. \u00a0I don’t even like burgundy. \u00a0In fact, I don’t want any burgundy in my house at all. \u00a0Unfortunately they added it to almost every room in one way or another I have my work cut out for me.<\/p>\n

I’m still amazed at what a coat of paint can do.<\/p>\n

We chose a very pale aqua colour for the walls. \u00a0It brightens the room immensely. \u00a0I love it. \u00a0It feels like a spa in there.<\/p>\n

This vanity was custom made. \u00a0 Apparently. \u00a0And it’s kind of cool, but it’s also a little…country cottage. \u00a0But we won’t be replacing it anytime soon as it serves its purpose. \u00a0But I will paint it. \u00a0I was thinking of a black-brown colour with brushed nickel knobs. \u00a0But then Auntie Jenny suggested I paint it white. \u00a0It hadn’t even occured to me. \u00a0Now I’m torn and so the vanity is not yet painted. \u00a0I’m non-commital.<\/p>\n

These mirrors were gold and brown. \u00a0And ugly. \u00a0But it was nothing a can of matte black spray paint couldn’t fix. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
