I lose socks.\u00a0 With every load of laundry, at least a few socks come out clean, but without a match.\u00a0 I’ve been doing this forever.\u00a0 I can’t explain it.\u00a0 I’ve tried to come up with ways to avoid the loss, but nothing seems to work.<\/p>\n

I keep the newly single in a bag in my closet, in the hopes of one day reuniting them with their mate, but it rarely happens.\u00a0 The bag is full.\u00a0 At any given time 50 single socks reside\u00a0in that bag. \u00a0It seems there really is a Land of Lost Socks, and\u00a0my socks\u00a0have a special one-way entrance pass.<\/p>\n

Dan claims that before he met me, he hadn’t lost a sock to the washer and\/or dryer.\u00a0 I’m not sure I believe him, but the number lost now that I do all the laundry (I removed his laundry privileges\u00a0after the ‘favourite shirt shrinkage debacle of 2005’), must have doubled or even tripled.\u00a0 I’m out of control.\u00a0 Dan has even had to start his own ‘single sock bag’ and he’s not happy about it.\u00a0 He gives me the ‘the look’ every time I hand him the latest casualties.<\/p>\n

\"dansocksmultisml.jpg\"<\/a>I did not stop there.\u00a0 The madness is not reserved for just Dan and I.\u00a0 As I folded Jaia’s clothes last night, I came to the end of the hamper and noticed that I’d lost 3 (yes 3) socks.\u00a0 There were 3 lonely pastel baby socks sitting in the bottom, waiting to be transferred to the yet to be started ‘single baby sock bag’.\u00a0 This is not a good trend.\u00a0 Jaia only has about 10-15 pairs of socks…and they are tiny…so they won’t be easy to find.<\/p>\n

It looks like the babies of the Land of Lost Socks will, from now on, have\u00a0toasty tootsies.\u00a0 I guess I always knew this would happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
