I’m tired of winter.\u00a0 Yes, I do realize that we’ve had it incredibly easy this year.\u00a0 Hardly any snow until January, but in my defense, I’ve been fairly housebound since the start of 2007.\u00a0 It’s not that I can’t go anywhere, it’s that I haven’t really wanted to.\u00a0 It was cold.\u00a0 And I was busy.\u00a0 Until now.<\/p>\n
We had a slew of\u00a0houseguests over the past 7 weeks.\u00a0 It’s been wonderful.\u00a0 I loved every minute of it.\u00a0\u00a0I dropped the last visitor (Jen) off at the airport this\u00a0morning and though one might normally be happy to be able to get back into their daily routine, sans visitors, I felt a\u00a0tinge of sadness.\u00a0 I miss everyone already.\u00a0 Dan,\u00a0Jaia\u00a0and I are incredibly lucky.\u00a0 We have an amazing family.\u00a0 I just wish\u00a0they\u00a0didn’t live so far away.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So now I’m going to focus on springtime.\u00a0 According to Punxsutawney Phil and his Canadian cousin, spring is to arrive on the early side this year.\u00a0 I’m counting on it.\u00a0 Humphrey is counting on it.\u00a0\u00a0And we’re both counting the days.\u00a0 This winter has not been friendly to poor Humph.\u00a0 On a recent walk his paws got\u00a0so cold and he actually tried to lift all four off the ground at the same time.\u00a0 Dan tells me it wasn’t pretty.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As I see it, spring can only bring good things.\u00a0 Warm weather, long walks, bright sunshine – all of which will make the Fullerton girls and their canine companion very happy.\u00a0 I’m predicting a\u00a0lot of time spent on the NCC trails in the near future.\u00a0 Excellent.<\/p>\n
