{"id":3517,"date":"2010-10-01T21:45:32","date_gmt":"2010-10-02T01:45:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/?p=3517"},"modified":"2010-10-01T21:45:32","modified_gmt":"2010-10-02T01:45:32","slug":"day-140-first-2-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=3517","title":{"rendered":"Day 140 &#8211; First 2 weeks&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6159sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3553\" title=\"DSC_6159sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6159sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"750\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6273sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3560\" title=\"DSC_6273sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6273sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not gonna lie, I was nervous. \u00a0So nervous about Jaia starting school. \u00a0I had nightmare after nightmare on her behalf that things would not go well. \u00a0I fully expected her to turn around and run toward me wailing as she grabbed my leg and begged me not to leave her there. \u00a0I worried in advance how I would handle it. \u00a0Would I walk away, sneak away before she noticed, give in and take her home where she feels safe and loved?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6184sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3554\" title=\"DSC_6184sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6184sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6212sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3555\" title=\"DSC_6212sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6212sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"750\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And then none of it happened. \u00a0Day 1 went swimmingly. \u00a0Day 2, which I thought would be worse once she realized what was going on, went&#8230;swimmingly. \u00a0Day 3, much of the same. \u00a0And now, after 2 full weeks as a student, she&#8217;s a pro.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6226sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3556\" title=\"DSC_6226sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6226sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"750\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the best part: friends! \u00a0She instantly connected with a couple of adorable little girls. \u00a0I love to hear them call out to her as we arrive each day. \u00a0She instantly beams and runs off to meet them, leaving Wes and I to fend for ourselves for the next 2 and a half hours.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6296sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3559\" title=\"DSC_6296sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC_6296sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And like any student, she&#8217;s been given an assignment to complete. \u00a0Jaia has to do a &#8216;show and tell&#8217; next week. \u00a0One of her little buddies presented today and it seemed to make her more excited to get up in front of the class and talk about something she loves.
