{"id":3463,"date":"2010-09-12T21:06:49","date_gmt":"2010-09-13T01:06:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/?p=3463"},"modified":"2010-09-12T21:06:49","modified_gmt":"2010-09-13T01:06:49","slug":"day-121-four","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=3463","title":{"rendered":"Day 121 &#8211; Four."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t believe 4 months have passed. \u00a0I know I say that every month, but it just amazes me how fast time flies. \u00a0It feels like much more than 121 days since I was sitting in the hospital waiting room waiting to be called into the operating room.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last month Wesley has changed from a newborn who seemed to cry much of the time he was awake, to a VERY content little guy who will happily amuse himself in his crib after he wakes up (for a few minutes anyway), or laugh heartily at the ridiculous sounds and faces that Dan, Jaia or I make for him.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"480\" height=\"385\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/07ru33Iz4cA?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;color1=0x3a3a3a&amp;color2=0x999999\" \/><param name=\"allowfullscreen\" value=\"true\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"480\" height=\"385\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/07ru33Iz4cA?fs=1&amp;hl=en_US&amp;color1=0x3a3a3a&amp;color2=0x999999\" allowscriptaccess=\"always\" allowfullscreen=\"true\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Wes spent this month teetering from side to side before he took the plunge and rolled all the way over last week. \u00a0Keeping him in one spot has become quite a challenge. \u00a0He&#8217;s either making his way around the floor in big circles on his back or on he&#8217;s his tummy trying his hardest to inch his way forward. \u00a0With the right incentive (chasing his sister around) I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;ll be too long before he&#8217;s completely on the go. \u00a0(see what I mean by time flying??)<\/p>\n<p>This month he also discovered his hands and, more recently, his feet. \u00a0He&#8217;ll now grab for toys that are put in front of him and is starting to show a preference for certain ones. \u00a0 His personality is really starting to show. \u00a0He&#8217;s funny and he loves watching his sister as she buzzes around him. \u00a0He seems shy and if we are holding him and\u00a0a stranger comes to say hello, he&#8217;ll\u00a0flash a gigantic smile, and then bury his face in our necks to hide.<\/p>\n<p>When they are tiny babies and they aren&#8217;t yet eating solids or sleeping through the night (we are not one of the lucky ones &#8211; the longest stretch was 7 hours, but then last night he was up 4 (!) times) you think this phase will never end. \u00a0The light at the end of the tunnel still feels miles away.\u00a0It isn&#8217;t until they&#8217;ve grown a little that you can look back and really appreciate how fleeting the newborn stage really is. \u00a0I remind myself of this as I&#8217;m trying to make it through yet another night feeding, wishing this was the last. \u00a0One day I will look back on the quiet, peaceful, sweet moments where I had him all to myself and will miss them.<\/p>\n<p>Happy 4 months, Little One.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I can&#8217;t believe 4 months have passed. \u00a0I know I say that every month, but it just amazes me how fast time flies. \u00a0It feels like much more than 121 days since I was sitting in the hospital waiting room waiting to be called into the operating room.
