My dad has two grandchildren.\u00a0 Avery, my brother Jason’s little girl, and Jaia.\u00a0 It was obviously coincedence because neither Heather (Avery’s mom) nor I had any say in the matter, but both these little girls were born on days known mostly\u00a0for the drinking that takes place.<\/p>\n

\"dsc_0014-1sm.jpg\"<\/a>Avery was born\u00a03 years ago today.\u00a0 I got the call from my brother while\u00a0deep in celebration mode (and the sauce).\u00a0 How awesome\u00a0– a birthday on St. Paddy’s day.\u00a0 No birthday could compete with that.\u00a0 The celebrations begin at noon and don’t let out until the ugly lights come on.\u00a0 Now that’s some birthday.<\/p>\n

And now that Jaia is here, born on New Year’s Eve, she is giving Miss Avery a run for her money.\u00a0 Hopefully these two cousins live in the same city one day so they can celebrate their respective days together.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But for now, the celebrations will be slightly more tame, consisting of alcohol-free beverages, ridiculously sweet cake and ‘pin the tail on the donkey’.\u00a0 I wish I could have been there for Avery’s big shindig today.\u00a0 Maybe next year……<\/p>\n

Happy birthday, Kiddo.\u00a0 I hope it was wonderful.<\/p>\n
