{"id":3027,"date":"2010-07-04T21:23:44","date_gmt":"2010-07-05T01:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/?p=3027"},"modified":"2010-07-04T21:23:44","modified_gmt":"2010-07-05T01:23:44","slug":"day-52-does-it-get-any-better-than-this","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=3027","title":{"rendered":"Day 52 &#8211; Does it get any better than this?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At first even the mere suggestion seemed crazy. \u00a0It sounded like a brilliant idea, but would likely be impossible. \u00a0Was there any point in pursuing it? \u00a0Would we be shot down if we brought it up?<\/p>\n<p>We weren&#8217;t. \u00a0Dan and I decided that he should take a month of parental leave this summer so that we could spend some quality time together, as a family.<\/p>\n<p>Friday was his last day of work. \u00a0It still hasn&#8217;t completely hit me yet, but I am so, so, so excited. \u00a0In the last 8 years, Dan and I have rarely had the opportunity to have a stay-cation. \u00a0Our holidays are happily spent travelling to see family or exploring the world. \u00a0And more so since we had kids. \u00a0But we&#8217;ve really missed out on time spent at home, our home, just enjoying each other.<\/p>\n<p>So this month is about us. \u00a0It&#8217;s about taking time out. \u00a0Taking a breath. \u00a0Taking walks and taking naps. \u00a0It&#8217;s about taking it all in. \u00a0Taking road trips. \u00a0Taking pictures. \u00a0But most of all, it&#8217;s about taking time to do the things we keep saying we need to take the time to do but never actually get around to it.<\/p>\n<p>Doesn&#8217;t it sound delicious? \u00a0Let the fun begin.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/DSC_0089sm2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3034\" title=\"DSC_0089sm2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/DSC_0089sm2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At first even the mere suggestion seemed crazy. \u00a0It sounded like a brilliant idea, but would likely be impossible. \u00a0Was there any point in pursuing it? \u00a0Would we be shot down if we brought it up?
