{"id":2940,"date":"2010-06-24T21:53:15","date_gmt":"2010-06-25T01:53:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/?p=2940"},"modified":"2010-06-24T21:53:15","modified_gmt":"2010-06-25T01:53:15","slug":"day-42-the-matriarch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/forgetful.ca\/?p=2940","title":{"rendered":"Day 42 &#8211; The Matriarch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Meet Dan&#8217;s Grandmother and Jaia and Wesley&#8217;s great-grandmother.<\/p>\n<p>I first met this amazing lady in 2003 on my inaugural visit to Saskatchewan. \u00a0It was her birthday party. \u00a0Everyone was there. \u00a0And even with the oodles of people milling around, most that I had never met, I was made to feel like I belonged. \u00a0Grandma took the time out to have a chat and try to get to know me a little, no matter what else is going on at the time.<\/p>\n<p>She always greets you with a big smile and a warm hug. \u00a0She just has that special touch with people. \u00a0Including the newest member of the family.<\/p>\n<p>While we were visiting, Wes was having some trouble with gas, as most babies do at that age. \u00a0We all took turns trying to calm the little guy down, but it was Grandma who had the most success. \u00a0Sitting in the rocking chair, with Wes in her arms, she could have him quiet and happily snoozing within a few minutes.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like he knew, even at only a few weeks old, how lucky he is to have her.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/DSC_9257sm.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2941\" title=\"DSC_9257sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/DSC_9257sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"498\" height=\"750\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Meet Dan&#8217;s Grandmother and Jaia and Wesley&#8217;s great-grandmother.
