It’s Friday. \u00a0And that’s good. \u00a0Here are some other good things that are making me happy today:<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0LILACS – They are in bloom. \u00a0Everywhere you look. \u00a0And the scent! \u00a0It reminds me of when I was a kid. \u00a0I just absolutely adore it.<\/p>\n

In the last house we lived, the first thing I planted in our first spring there was a lilac bush. \u00a0It was tiny and I knew I’d never see it flower. \u00a0When we moved the year later, it was still just finding it’s roots. \u00a0No blooms. \u00a0In this house, we planted another lilac bush in a primo spot last spring and, lo and behold, she produced some flowers! \u00a0They are beautiful and no surprise here, they smell magnificent.<\/p>\n

2. COUNTDOWNS – Or, should I say, coming to the end of a long anticipated countdown. \u00a0Frank the Baby is almost here and that makes me happy. \u00a0It’s weird (to me, at least) how slow a pregnancy passes at the same time that it is flying by. \u00a0I’m amazed that I’ve already been growing this bean for over 9 months. \u00a0I cannot wait to meet him.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0MOTHER’S DAY – Since my mom is in town, we decided to celebrate tomorrow instead of insanity Sunday when every restaurant in town is fully booked. \u00a0(Smart, eh? \u00a0It was Dan’s idea). \u00a0So off to the Chateau Laurier we go. \u00a0I’ve never eaten there and am already excited to indulge.<\/p>\n

4. \u00a0HIDDEN TALENTS – It won’t come as a surprise to anyone, but Dan is good at what he does. \u00a0No matter what project he takes on, he excels. \u00a0Take the kitchen, for instance. \u00a0Or anything he’s had to repair. \u00a0Or assemble. \u00a0So when we decided to try to take a few maternity pictures and my favourite photographer was unavailable on a tropical island somewhere, Dan offered. \u00a0Or, make that, I asked and he agreed.<\/p>\n

We went out to one of my favourite spots and he began to shoot. \u00a0I provided a little instruction, but barely any. \u00a0The result was awesome. \u00a0I was shocked when we got home and popped the memory card into the laptop.<\/p>\n

I just wish he’d enjoy photography as much as I do. \u00a0What fun it would be if he came along on my photoshoots willingly rather than after having been made to feel guilty…<\/p>\n

5. \u00a0KEEPING UP MY END OF THE BARGAIN – On February 17 I wrote my 800th post. \u00a0Today’s is number 850. \u00a0It hasn’t been a daily thing, but my blogging has improved. \u00a0Substantially. \u00a0And it’s actually been refreshing. \u00a0I plan to keep it up as long as you keep reading. \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
