For the first time in a long time, I remembered that it was berry season before every berry bush had already been picked\u00a0and the in-store prices were jacked up once again.\u00a0 To celebrate, we decided to head to the local berry patch and do some picking of our own.\u00a0 That’s a lie.\u00a0\u00a0I picked, Dan ate.\u00a0\u00a0 He guessed that he only put about 5 in the basket, and the rest went straight into his belly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So the beautiful, over-flowing basket was all my doing.\u00a0 By the end I had only tasted the one strawberry Dan handed to me and…well, I couldn’t hide the evidence.<\/p>\n

Jaia had about as much fun as an almost 6 month old can while watching her parents pick (eat) berries on a hot, hot, hot and humid\u00a0summer afternoon.\u00a0 I imagine next year will prove to be more exciting\u00a0as she can romp around on her own and follow the trail of berry tops that her dad leaves behind.\u00a0<\/p>\n
