The cold air is too cold and the snow, for mid-December, is already too deep. \u00a0Perhaps I wasn&#8217;t built for this climate. \u00a0I don&#8217;t ski or snowboard, nor do I play hockey or go skating, sledding, or snowshoeing. \u00a0I don&#8217;t see much point to winter other than for hiding inside. \u00a0And that&#8217;s how it&#8217;s always been.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t help that as I wait for my new &#8216;roomier&#8217; coat to arrive, I must zip myself up into my regular one and walk around looking like a sausage.<\/p>\n<p>But&#8230;just as I turn on the computer to start scouting locations to live where there is no snow (got room for me, Kris?), I see the excitement in Jaia&#8217;s eyes as the snow starts to fall. \u00a0She, at 2, has already gone skiing and is crazy excited to learn to skate. \u00a0She was showing me her proposed technique last night dressed in pjs and bare feet.<\/p>\n<p>And then she heads outside to play and is in heaven. \u00a0She loves winter and I find her sneaking peeks out the window to make sure the snow hasn&#8217;t melted yet &#8211; which melts my cold heart &#8211; just a little. \u00a0I guess we&#8217;ll stay and stick it out. \u00a0For now. \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2016\" title=\"DSC_1785sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/DSC_1785sm.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1785sm\" width=\"650\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2017\" title=\"DSC_1816sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/DSC_1816sm.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1816sm\" width=\"650\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2018\" title=\"DSC_1847sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/DSC_1847sm.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_1847sm\" width=\"650\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2022\" title=\"IMG_3188sm\" src=\"http:\/\/www.forgetful.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/12\/IMG_3188sm1.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3188sm\" width=\"650\" height=\"488\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t like winter. \u00a0And I complain about it a lot.
