30 days from today my life changes.\u00a0 For the MUCH better.<\/p>\n
After a fairly agonizing fall and winter, Dan and I made a huge decision – or what felt like a huge decision to us – to make some changes in our family life.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Like so many other working mamas, I feel like I am missing out on my child’s life.\u00a0 The best hours of Jaia’s day happen while I am away and sitting at a desk.\u00a0 I see her every evening for a mere 3 hours before she goes to bed.\u00a0 Those three hours are often busy (dinner making), rushed (errand running), tired (long day of working) and therefore also often playless.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We\u00a0 try our best to make up for long busy weeks by packing in fun on the weekends, but much too often they end up\u00a0exactly like our weekdays – just plain busy.\u00a0<\/p>\n
So after a lot of talking, figuring out, deciding and coming to grips – we finally have\u00a0a solution we can live with – and thankfully one my employer suggested and endorses.\u00a0 As of next month, I will be working from home, part-time.\u00a0\u00a0A mere 30 days from today, Jaia will no longer go to daycare and will be home with me on a full time basis.<\/p>\n
A few people in our lives kept telling us that\u00a0our kids\u00a0are only young once – and we finally started listening.\u00a0 Jaia is growing up and turning into a little lady, and rather than it happening before my eyes, I’m hearing about it from our daycare provider.\u00a0 I’m missing out and it was making me sad enough to do something to fix the situation.<\/p>\n
So there it is.\u00a0 News that I am happy to report.\u00a0 News of a decision I couldn’t be more proud of.\u00a0 News that is making me all giggly like a school girl.\u00a0 And it’s only 30 days away (and only 23 working days).\u00a0 Yes, I’m excited.\u00a0 Beyond excited.\u00a0 I’m already counting the sleeps….<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
